TERA JANELLE

PRINCIPAL DESIGNER & FOUNDER

A Wisconsin farm girl who fell in love with the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, Tera Janelle adores nearly every type of cheese, sunny days, classic interiors, and the perfect shade of gray.

In 2007, Tera launched her interior design company, now eponymously Tera Janelle Design. With projects ranging from beach houses and new builds to mountain estates and historic homes, Tera specializes in full scale concept-to-completion construction to furnishings design.  Her work has been featured throughout Virginia design publications and published nationally at ElleDecor.com, House & Home, HGTV.ca, and in Domino Magazine.

Married to her high school sweetheart, Tera and her husband reside in Lynchburg, Virginia with their twin one-year-old girls. When life permits, Tera enjoys strolling historic neighborhoods, these days with a stroller and kiddos in tow; patio lunches in the sunshine; and escaping in flip flops with her family to the oceanside.

BEKAH SEAVERS
INTERIOR DESIGNER & PROJECT MANAGER

With a degree in interior design from Liberty University, a background in construction, and a strong attention to detail, Bekah is an integral part of our design team and process. Bekah joined the Tera Janelle Design team in 2017.  Her extensive experience in AutoCAD and project management, as well as her enthusiastic nature, assure Tera Janelle Design clients experience beautiful designs as well as a great customer experience.

Bekah hails from Cleveland and grew up amidst construction alongside her father, a Cleveland firefighter and talented contractor.  He taught Bekah from an early age the ins-and-outs of construction, from laying a stone patio, to installing a roomful of tile, to creating detailed construction drawings.  In addition, Bekah can expertly recite every line to Tommy Boy or The Office, and craft a perfect cappuccino.

Bekah and her husband enjoy renovating their first home, trying local breweries, and cooking together.  They are proud parents to two girls and a rambunctious black lab.

ASHLEY HISE
GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Ashley wears many creative hats at Tera Janelle Design. With dual degrees in interior design and graphic design, as well as experience as a professional wedding photographer, Ashley serves as TJD photographer, graphic designer, and all around creative guru!

Originating from Lexington, Kentucky, Ashley is a southern girl and a big believer that a deep belly laugh or a yummy snack is the way to anyone’s heart. From a young age, Ashley has loved all things creative. Painting, drawing, ceramics, and photography were just a few things that sparked her interest in becoming the multifaceted creative she is today. Ashley loves chocolate chip cookies, a brand new sketchbook, and capturing life's precious details from behind the camera.

Ashley is newly married to her high school sweetheart. Together, they enjoy going to the farmer's market, watching movies, and caring for their (many) plant babies.

AMANDA TUCK
INTERIOR DESIGN INTERN

Amanda is a rising senior at Virginia Tech studying interior design. She enjoys the cumulative process of designing, from initial client meetings, to hand-sketching concepts and floor plans, to generating 3D renderings, and finalizing material selections.

During her time at Virginia Tech, she has had the pleasure to partner in the design of a Washington-based co-working space, a Roanoke brewery, and a renovation concept for Shanks Hall on the Virginia Tech campus.  She has received special accolades for her design concepts and her realistic Revit and Photoshop renderings.  Amanda’s experience brings a commercial perspective and beautiful renderings to the TJD team.

Born and raised in Evington, VA, the Virginia mountains continue to be an inspiration for Amanda. She enjoys hiking the Cascades Trail and landscape photography. When not on the hiking trail, Amanda loves Virginia Tech football games, Mexican Cuisine (even Taco Bell will do, but especially La Carreta), and watching Friends with her roommates.
